Strict autonomous-buyer Proof #3 completes
Milestone occurred: 28 August 2026
Public milestone record published: 11 September 2026
What happened
Atinamos completed the strict buyer-side experiment that earlier work had deliberately left open.
The human supplied only a task, a budget and a risk policy. The bounded buyer then:
searched live Coinbase/x402 Bazaar
→ inspected exact executable routes without paying
→ queried published Atinamos evidence after discovery
→ applied the unchanged buyer policy
→ selected a seller without the human naming it
→ rechecked live x402 terms
→ paid within budget
→ consumed the result
→ validated the result exactly
The final successful run selected Keyronne JSON Repair, paid 0.001 USDC on Base mainnet and validated the repaired JSON against the pre-defined semantic target.
Why it mattered
Earlier experiments had proven seller operation, independent evidence and evidence-gated buying, but some human steering remained—especially seller nomination.
Proof #3 removed that remaining seller-selection shortcut in a controlled experiment.
Important safety evidence
The path also produced valid no-purchase outcomes. When no discovered candidate had qualifying published evidence, the buyer selected nothing and paid nothing. Route transcription mismatches were rejected rather than allowing evidence for one URL to transfer silently to a different route.
The candidate verification batch also showed why payment settlement cannot be treated as useful fulfilment: one paid candidate settled but failed the objective semantic result criterion.
What it proved
The evidence supports the bounded claim that an Atinamos-operated buyer could independently discover, evidence-check, select, pay and validate an external machine service under a fixed budget and policy.
What it did not prove
This was still an Atinamos-operated buyer. It did not establish that unrelated external buyers were already consuming Atinamos evidence in the wild, nor did it establish broad market adoption.
