What happened

Later on the same day as Proof #3, Atinamos observed a different kind of milestone: an unrelated external client purchased an Atinamos service.

The client paid 0.005 USDC on Base mainnet for Atinamos JSON Repair. The server-side sequence retained the expected x402 commercial path:

The corresponding Base transaction is retained in the public research record.

Why it mattered

Proof #3 answered a controlled buyer-side autonomy question. This event answered a separate commercial question: would somebody outside the documented Atinamos test flows actually pay for an Atinamos machine service?

For this observed event, the answer was yes.

The same external source had probed multiple paid Atinamos routes approximately eleven minutes earlier, then returned to JSON Repair and paid. That behaviour is consistent with a machine client examining options, but it is not enough to identify the buyer's internal decision process.

What it proved

The evidence supports that:

  • an unrelated external client reached an Atinamos paid endpoint;
  • a valid x402 payment was supplied;
  • settlement completed on Base;
  • the paid service returned HTTP 200;
  • the event was not identified as one of the documented controlled Atinamos purchase tests.

What it did not prove

It does not establish that the buyer was definitely an autonomous AI agent, that an LLM selected Atinamos, that a particular marketplace caused the purchase, or that one purchase represented broad market adoption.
